About Eastern Great Lakes Chapter

Message from the President

First off, I want to thank everyone for their support of this year’s annual Fall Harvest Silent Auction Fund Raiser. We raised over $800 to offset the costs of meeting throughout this year. Pearl Street Brewery was a fun location and a great opportunity for offsite events. Please feel free to contact them if you have any needs in the Buffalo area. (And make sure they serve their homemade ice cream, that made it all that much more enjoyable!)

Our next event will be our annual Speed Planning in March of 2009. This event last year gave 20+ planners and suppliers in nearly equal numbers the opportunity to connect. Don’t be surprised if some of your best connections are not who you would think. Our list last year was as diverse as the chapter, with hotels, services, planners and DMCs! Please keep your eyes open for details.

Lastly, I just want to encourage everyone to get out and vote! No, not the election that by now is already decided, but the By Law Changes for MPI. To vote, just go to www.mpiweb.org and log into your account. If you don’t have an account you can sign up there also. These By Law changes, while at first seem daunting and abstract, have a very direct reaction at the chapter level. While not supporting either candidate, oops, I mean side, please get out and vote.

Have a great and safe Holiday and I will look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

Matt Peglow
